HRDC participates in the hearing session organised with groups of interest on the draft law “On some additions and amendments to the Law No. 9669, dated 18.12.2006, "On Measures against Violence on family relationships" -organized by the Committee on Labor Social Affairs and Health, in the Parliament of Albania. On June 22, 2018, the HRDC participated in the hearing session organized by the Committee on Labor Affairs, Social Affairs and Health where they discussed about the draft law on some additions and amendments to Law No. 9669, dated 18.12.2006 "On Measures against Domestic Violence "Changed. Participation in this Commission was of particular importance as HRDC had the opportunity to relate concrete proposals for some of the articles of this law. Concrete proposals are based on the concrete handling of cases of violence, their management, training with service providers, and the practical monitoring of the legislation of violence, including the justice system. The problems encountered in the implementation of the Law on Violence have been translated into the form of suggestions in the Draft Law " Presentation of some amendments and changes of the Law No.9669, dated 18.12.2006" On Measures Against Violence in Family Relationships "as amended. These proposals were discussed in this Commission and were found with great interest by attendants.
2. The HRDC participates in the hearing on the functioning of the domestic violence referral mechanism - organized by the Sub-committee on Gender Equality
On 01.10.2018, the Human Rights in Democracy Centre participated in the hearing on the functioning of the Domestic Violence Referral Mechanism. This session was organized by the Sub-committee on Gender Equality and the Prevention of Violence against Women along with the Sub-committee on Local Governance of the Albanian Parliament. HRDC presented the issues encountered during its work with the Referral Mechanisms and presented its suggestions for effective addressing of these issues.
